Weekly Happenings
7/13 Vineyard 201
Sometimes we need to check the map to see where we are and where we need to go next. Vineyard 201 is intended to help participants grow as God intended into the men & women they are designed to be. This class will introduce participants to a framework for formation and help each person gauge where they’re at so they can develop a personal focus for flourishing growth going forward. Vineyard 201 is coming up Sunday, July 13 from 1:30 to 3:15 at the Bleakley home.
7/27 Vineyard 101
We recognize the fundamental human need to belong… to be needed and to need others. This is especially true in our journeys with God, who calls us all to belong to him by not only loving Him, but by caring for and meeting one another’s needs. At our Vineyard 101 class, you’ll learn what it means to belong to the Vineyard family… to be an essential member of our church family and you’ll have the opportunity to become a steward-member here. So, join us on Sunday, July 27th from 1:30-3:30 at the Bleakley home.
8/2 Open Mic
Many of our congregation's God-given abilities don't get to be featured on Sunday mornings, so we're planning an Open Mic event where people share short (5 minute) expressions of giving glory to God in creative ways. These could be poems, spoken word, rap, songwriting, playing an instrument, dance, sharing a piece of art, or anything else you can do behind a microphone! They also don't need to be explicitly Christian. God has made it, so it gives glory to God :) This is a chance to share something that you love and enjoy with the congregation regardless of ability level and be met with nothing but encouragement and support. The event will be Saturday, August 2nd at 6:30pm. Contact Jeremy if you’re interested in performing!
New Volunteer Coordinator
We’re thrilled to welcome DJ Carter as Vineyard’s new Volunteer Coordinator! For almost a year now, we’ve been searching and praying for someone to serve in this role, and we’re so excited that DJ is coming on board.
DJ and Sarah live south of town in Schuyler with their 6 kids (Deacon, DeAnna and Daniel + Aubree, Carter and Kaia). They enjoy having folks over, serving as foster parents and ministering to diverse communities, which they have been doing in multiple capacities since high school. DJ is currently pursuing his doctorate in theology because he loves learning from, growing in the knowledge of and talking about God’s Word!
Over the coming weeks, DJ will be in touch with our volunteers and leaders to introduce himself and share about the ways he’s available to support you as you serve. Please say hello as you see DJ and his family at Vineyard!
