What to Expect

We meet at 10:30am Sundays
at Johnson Elementary School

On any given Sunday, we want you to know that our primary hope for you, from your first time to your 101st time, is that you would experience the love and presence of God. We know that being in God’s presence can be the most transformative, encouraging and satisfying aspect of anyone’s faith. So, we build everything around that one simple idea… experiencing God.

What should I expect when I arrive?

As you arrive, you’ll see signage welcoming and directing you into the school. As soon as you approach the doors, you’ll be met by a smiling face and a warm greeting. Before entering the auditorium, enjoy the fresh coffee.

What about my kids?

If you have children, just walk past the auditorium doors and the coffee station to our sign-in area for the Ark (our kid's ministry).

Safety & security are important to us, so you'll be asked to take a moment to sign them in before they join their new friends in a fun and loving environment. Depending on age, your children will have an interactive, creative lesson and some time for play before they join you again.

You’re also welcome to keep your children with you in the service, if you prefer.

What is the service like?

After an opening song and announcements, you'll hear a practical and relevant message, grounded in scripture.

We follow the message with our response time (communion, offering, children welcomed back... then worship). Worship is contemporary, a mixture of styles intended to hit home for our multi-ethnic and multi-generational crowd.

During worship, we have a prayer ministry team available to pray with/for you. You'll find them in the back of the auditorium. Take them up on it... they'd love to pray for you.

The service is generally about an hour and 15 minutes long.

What do I wear?

At Vineyard, we’re casual. What matters to us is not what you’re wearing, but whether you meet with God while you’re with us. To give you a better feel, many of our regulars will wear the sort of outfit they might normally wear to a casual cookout with friends. “Come as you are” is the theme, whether that’s dressed up or dressed down.

Do I have to be a Christian to come?

No! Everyone is welcome, whether you are currently following Jesus or just exploring faith.

What is Communion? Can I participate?

Communion is a time to remember the sacrifice of Jesus, recognize the bond followers of Jesus share, and receive nourishment and refreshment for the soul.

We encourage any who are following Jesus to join us in this act of thanksgiving.

Am I required to give?

No! For those who consider Vineyard their church home, we give to God’s work in and through the church in response to all He has given each of us. For those who are newer, there’s no expectation to give. Instead, please consider filling out a “connection card” on the table in the lobby and dropping that in the offering box so that we can follow up with you (in a considerate, non-pushy way).

Whoever you are… whatever your story and wherever you find yourself with God, you are welcome to join us at Vineyard Church.
